The Internal Revenue Department has recently classified the Amir D. Aczel Foundation for Research and Education in Science and Mathematics, Inc., as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We are a publicly funded charity and rely on your support to continue our mission.
The Foundation is currently raising funds to support our work promoting science and mathematics research and education in Cambodia. We began our efforts early in the year with a GoFundMe campaign that successfully raised the money we need to support installation of the ancient stele containing the oldest zero known–the Khmer Zero–in the Cambodian National Museum in Phnom Penh. We are currently working closely with the Museum and the Ministry of Culture in Cambodia to develop plans for the permanent exhibit as well as a grand unveiling to draw attention to the importance of the Khmer Zero in the history of mathematics. As part of this event we are now seeking sponsorship for an public talk on the Khmer Zero and its importance in the history of mathematics. More soon….
